Your luggage is finally packed.

Everything is ready : the camera and its battery, pyjamas, shoes, umbrellas, MP3 player and even a sandwich for the ride to the airport.

However on your way to your door you suddenly realize you’ve forgotten the travel guide.

Let’s just think for a minute… there is no way you can fit that enormous book in the bag.  At that point even a pair of socks would not get in anymore.

It will be for an other time you say to your family. Or we’ll buy one there.

Two days later you’ll regret that choice. Travel guides are expensive and often written in the local language (that you can not for some obscure reason decipher).

Next time ‘I’ll be more clever’ you tell yourself, the wife and the kids.

Well let me suggest a simplest way to make sure you have your travel guide with you every time you travel.

Just go online and download a digital travel guide that you will load on your favourite MP3 player or on your phone. When you arrive on site just put on your headphones and voilà !

Many options are possible.

Let’s start with the infamous Guide du Routard which for only 5 euros bring you the digital version of the paper book.

Podibus offers unique ways to travel with pictures, videos and audio tracks of the most famous touristic attractions you can find in a country. It’s like you don’t have to travel anymore. Just stay in your favourite Suitehotel suite and you will see the wonders of the Chenonceau castle or Notre-Dame on your iPhone.

Finally the most genuine way to discover a town is probably to let a local do the tour for you. For only 10 euros, Soundwalk offers an audio guide of a neighbourhood recorded by one of its famous inhabitant. What would you say for example of discovering the Pigalle district of Paris with Lou Doillon while you are staying at the Paris-Porte de la Chapelle Suitehotel ?
