Let me take you on a trip to Montpellier for the Tip of the Week. Southern towns are famous for their spring and summer festivals, especially the musical ones. But the one I will be talking about today is a photography festival called the Boutographies. The festival was created in 2001 by two inhabitants of the Boutonnet district in Montpellier. Less than 10 years later, the Boutographies have become a renowned international rendez-vous, probably the second most famous one in the area after the very respected Arles Photography Festival.
The festival aims to showcase young artists and it uses every kind of building available in town. Young international artists are particularly encouraged.
So don’t miss out if you are, by chance, staying at the Suitehotel Antigone Montpellier between the 24th of May and the 8th of June.
Photos will be displayed in many places including the Fabre Museum, at the Pavillon Populaire or in the gardens of Hotel Sully.
And if you’re feeling particularly gifted you can always try your own skills on the excellent lightning, narrow alleys and monuments of the old town.
