The new Facebook

The new Facebook layout just arrived. If you’re logged in, the link to the new Facebook is on the very top of your homepage. Or you can check it out directly on www.new.facebook.com . I haven’t switched mine yet… why ? Well… for the same reason I didn’t switch my Facebook in French when it became available. I’m used to the old version and the new version looks very confusing to me. I’m probably not the only one under this impression.

The navigation works with tabs now. The ‘publisher’ allows you to post your updates (photos, videos, and items for your applications) directly from your profile. The infos (which were usually on the middle of your profile page) are now in a different page and it’s not possible to move around the items on your page like in the old version. There is a new tab for all the rest of your boxes (aka the applications that were not included in the other tabs), randomly located on the page (but you can still move them around in that tab if you want to). And you can add more tabs if you want to.

I don’t like it, I’m sorry but I’m keeping my old almost-vintage Facebook. My boxes and my infos were displayed the way I wanted them to be. There was a logic in there, mine yes, but a logic nonetheless. It bothers me that My Entourage, My TV Shows, What I’m listening and Flog Blog are dismissed on the very last tab like they don’t matter…

What do you think ? Old or New Facebook ?
