The G1 phone is ready to impress legions of Apple devotees. The G1 was launched by T-Mobile earlier this month in the States to compete with the iPhone. How ? Well, mainly by using the Android Operating System, created and supported by Google.
However the G1 and the iPhone are two very different devices. The G1 has a both a muti-touch screen and a proper keyboard. A 1G SD memory card allows the user to store quite a lot of contents including photos or videos.
Of course all Google applications (including Gmail and Google Maps) runs perfectly on the G1.
The G1 is manufactured by HTC and his functionning is therefore quite similar has what you can find on other HTC smartphones.
The G1 should arrive in the UK by the end of the month and in the spring for the rest of Europe.
It is available in the US for $179 and a two-year contract.
