Paris is probably the City of Museums if anything else. The Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay or the Grand-Palais… the list goes on and on…

However the highlight of the Parisian art scene in the past few weeks has definitely been the 104. The 104 is a former funeral parlour devoted to Modern Art and located in the 19th district, far away from the slick Haussmannian facades of the more touristic areas in the center of Paris.

The numbers are stunning : 100 millions euros were spent to finish the restoration of the 40 000 square meters dedicated to exhibitions, workshops, local social centers and kids clubs.

Some people say that French designer Philippe Starck will soon be launching a Project Runway of Design with the BBC so viewers from all around the world can catch a glimpse of talented designers in the making.

However last saturday for the grand opening the public was there to enjoy the free concert of British trip-hop legend Tricky, who will be recording his new album with people from the area in the next few months.
