Christmas is approaching and you’ll soon be dealing with overexcited children. Once Santa Claus has come and gone, all the gifts have been opened and used, you’ll still have to entertain them with fun and exciting activities.

If you are staying at the Montpellier Suitehotel, the Odysseum has the solution for you. The Odysseum is a gigantic leisure centre with nearly 60 000m2 of activities for children and grown-ups alike.

The planetarium, the sea-life centre, the ice-rink, the climbing wall or the karting rink… the choice is going to be very difficult. And I’m not even talking about the multiplex, the bowling alley or the laser tag centre (yes *the* legendary game from the 80’s)…

You can access the centre very easily with ligns 1 and 29 of public transportation (tram and bus). It has plenty of restaurants in the food court and you can leave the youngest members of the family at the daycare.

If you live north of Lyon you probably  got your winter coat out of your closet and you are never leaving home without your scarf and a pair of gloves anymore. Yes it is cold out there in the wild and you need to be protected against the freezing wind.

However in the South the temperatures are still pleasant and you can still enjoy the wonders of a sunny terrace. If you are staying at the Nice Suitehotel it is probably a good time to go out there and have the last ice-cream of the season.

And I know the perfect place for that in the old town in Nice.

Fenocchio ice-cream parlour has more than 94 flavours. You can have classic and delicious sorbets and mix them with more surprising creations like Thym or Pepper.

Fenocchio is located on the charming Rossetti square, just outside of the old church.

The shop will close mid-novembre so be sure to catch the last scoop of ice-cream before the winter season.

Paris is probably the City of Museums if anything else. The Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay or the Grand-Palais… the list goes on and on…

However the highlight of the Parisian art scene in the past few weeks has definitely been the 104. The 104 is a former funeral parlour devoted to Modern Art and located in the 19th district, far away from the slick Haussmannian facades of the more touristic areas in the center of Paris.

The numbers are stunning : 100 millions euros were spent to finish the restoration of the 40 000 square meters dedicated to exhibitions, workshops, local social centers and kids clubs.

Some people say that French designer Philippe Starck will soon be launching a Project Runway of Design with the BBC so viewers from all around the world can catch a glimpse of talented designers in the making.

However last saturday for the grand opening the public was there to enjoy the free concert of British trip-hop legend Tricky, who will be recording his new album with people from the area in the next few months.

It’s a little shop around the corner, hidden under and archway just a minute away from the Republique Square. It’s not very easy to find, you have to know it’s there. The American Grocery of Paris is a tiny tiny little shop dedicated to all the American and English and Irish products you might need. The walls are covered with products from jello to Pop Tarts, Picallili Sauce and Kraft Macaroni Cheese. Whatever you need you’ll probably find it there. The owners will help you find what’s perfect for you or just chat with you. You can order the products online and they’ll send your packages directly at home everywhere in France.

You can check for more references on the official website of the American Grocery of Paris.

The shop is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 10 am to 7 pm. On Saturday the shop is open from 11 am to 7 am.
